The Military announced "Arrested the instigators behind the labour protest"

The  Military announced, "Arrested the instigators behind the protests in collaboration with Action Labor Rights, an organization declared illegal by the government".

Employers and the Military clearly show that they will not accept anyone who will negotiate for wage increases.

The announcement included :

Upon learning that incitement was being carried out by Thurein Aung, the leader of the Action Labor Rights organisation declared by the government as an illegal organisation to disrupt national stability and government mechanism and to make workers protest in the workplaces and factories. Therefore, the arrest was being made.

Due to reports from the public to arrest the instigators by the security forces, from June 14 to 17, 2023, Thandar Soe Lin and Phyo Myat Myat Thin from the Action Labor Rights organization, and Hein Min Zaw, who supports the Action Labor Rights organization, and Aung Aung, Thu Thu San, Thandar Aye, Aye Thandar Htay and May Thu Min from the Hosheng (Myanmar) Garment Factory, who were working to protest in factories in cooperation with the Action Labor Rights organization, and Thidar Win and Ko Htet (aka) Hlaing Win Htet from the Sun Apparel Myanmar Garment Factory were arrested respectively.

The investigation of the arrested defendants revealed that Thuzar, from the Action Labor Rights organization, met with about 20 workers from factories and workshops on the upper floor of Kaung (1) restaurant in (25) Ward, Shwe Pyi Tha Township, Yangon Region from February 5 to 18, 2023. Thuzar incited them to protest. Due to incitement, on June 12, 2023, some of the workers of the Hosheng (Myanmar) Garment Factory located in Thardhukan Industrial Zone, Shwe Pyi Tha Township, Yangon Region, gathered in front of the factory without entering the workplace. Workers at the Sun Apparel Myanmar Garment Factory, that is located in Hlaing Thar Yar (West) Township, gathered inside and protested on June 13.

Effective legal action will therefore be taken against the 10 defendants of the Sun Apparel Myanmar Garment Factory, the Hosheng (Myanmar) Garment Factory, and Action Labor Rights organization. These defendants engaged in propaganda and inciting protests in workplaces and factories. Legal action will also be taken against Thurein Aung and Thuzar from the Action Labor Rights organization, who are on the run, associated defendants, and the instigators.
